InTheBin is a mobile application for iPhone and Android that lets you scan or take a picture of a product and find out how to recycle it where you live.
Ask
Use the application to scan a product's barcode, or take a picture of it, and find out how it can be recycled where you live. If we have the answer, we will provide the instructions. If not, you can leave the question and others who know can answer.
Answer
If you scan or take a picture of a product we do not know about where you live, you can tell us what to do if you do know. You can also see what other people have asked about and answer those too. See who has answered what, and share your knowledge.
Track
Scan or photograph everything you ask about, recycle, or trash: we can keep track of how much of your waste ends up being recycled. See how changes in your purchases change your recycling profile, try to find ways to bring your recycling amounts up, do whatever you can think of with the tracking.
